Once the gutter was removed, the condition behind it was now visible, old siding had to be renailed.
and new surface to be prepared to torch down the new modified before the new gutter its placed.

Replacement was primed for better results.

A way better surface for the new gutter.

Making sure every detail its water tight.
New gutter finally in place, tying in the old roof and the new material.

Bigger problems.

I thinks its been there a while sir.

deep fried shingle anyone?

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news."

Homeowner happens to be afraid of heights, nothing wrong with that.
on the other hand he couldnt see its condition.

rain gutters might need a bit of cleaning

We have bigger problems besides the drywall damage.

Sorry, you need a new roof or at least a blue tarp over the fried roof.
As of yesterday.

Water dripping down the sliding door

Water down the electrical conduit and on top of furnace!

Homeowner noticed water on the floor, realized it was coming down from the electrical conduit.

Why?
wind driven rain,snow,could get in.

Checked all the possible entry points, the top of this pitch pan needs to be resealed also

Top of heat exhaust copuld defionitely use a touch of sealant around base.

Notice the proximity of the drain,so many ways for the water to get in in such a small area.

Sealant will do the trick, for now.
Water down the electrical conduit? i wonder why?

Top of pitch pan after also being sealed
Collar around base of heat exhaustwas also sealed

Out of sight

Older shingles dry up,once no longer attached to one another,
 this is the result.

not visible from the ground, unless you happen to be on  the roof.

The opening allowed water in ,down the valley on the roof to the lowest point.
