Valley tear-off (metal pan)

| Large valley with shingles Leaks take place below when the snow and ice accumulates causing ice dams Water leaks because the shingles are designed to shed the water On a steep roof |

| Removed the shingles and applied base sheet making sure this turned up against both sides of the valley |
 |
| Base sheet was nailed down on both slopes under the shingles . |
 |
| Galvanized metal pan was installed and fastened in place |
 |
| Made sure this metal pan fastened in place before the smooth modified membrane was installed |
 |
| Installed the smooth modified membrane followed by the new shingles |
 |
| Bottom course of the shingles starts about 10 ft away from the base of the valley |
 |
| We also hand sealed the shingles with high grade urethane based caulk to make sure the new shingles are adhered with the existing older shingles and prevent wind damage |
