Soil stack pipe re-flashing (heavy rains expected)

Tenant called us with a roof issue 
Water dripped from the ceiling during the last rainfall.3rd floor bathroom area.
The maintenance staff only resort was to cut the drywall to avoid further damage 
On the roof we found the roof protrusion with damaged shingles and the flashing on the pvc pipe needs replacement.


Openings like these allow water to travel under the shingles and flashing 
The rusted nail heads are proof of the existing  problem. 


This is a very old roof and the shingles are brittle and falling apart 
We try to keep it simple and practical
To make this watertight for the tenant 
We installed the new flashing and applied sealant to the base of the pvc pipe flashing
