Another faulty ridge vent

Ugly water stain at base of this vaulted (cathedral )ceiling

it had rained the previous night and the stain was wet to the touch

Upon inspection i found the only thing wrong with these roof was this metal ridge vent.



Base and endcaps were  loose

driving a few 16 penny nails and covering with urethane based caulk

both end caps were sealed in a permanent way

entire lenght was secured with new galvanized nails at the base of this ridge vent and preventing the wind driven rain to get in

last but not least,caulk was applied as an extra measure to make sure this nails will not pop up in the future.
